You are eligible to rent a subsidised textphone from the Government if you:
- are Deaf, hearing-impaired, deaf-blind, or speech-impaired.
- have a speech impairment or other communication impairment.
- cannot communicate using a standard telephone or amplified telephone headset.
Follow these three steps:

- Read and accept the Rental Agreement. (Download PDF)
- Complete the Application Form (Download PDF)

If you do not qualify:
- You may purchase a Textphone from the NZ Textphone/Equipment Services Program.
- Textphones are also available for retail purchase from Counties Power.
